Get The Skills To Be A Professional Phlebotomy Technician
7-9 Month* Phlebotomy Technician, Diploma Program
Needles, plasma and keeping patients calm for a blood draw might be a big part of your day if you’re a phlebotomist. But for some people in this career field, it’s not so much about drawing blood as it is helping people to live a healthier life, because blood tells us so much about what’s going on in our body and what we need to be well.
The Phlebotomy program provides students the training needed to function as an entry-level phlebotomist in hospitals, blood donor sites, medical/diagnostic laboratories, physicians’ offices, research or other health care settings. Phlebotomists perform functions such as blood drawing, specimen collection and processing, lab procedures, and administrative duties. Many healthcare facilities today require an employee that possess both front office and back office skills, have developed communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving and quantitative reasoning skills as well as business process knowledge. Our program is designed to meet these needs through a variety of hands on anatomy/physiology, administrative, and clinical courses. This program emphasizes theory and skills of phlebotomy and students acquire experience at a medical facility upon graduation.
