The Career Training Academy Experience
Kaitlin “Katt” Hearn, a Monroeville campus Dental Assisting graduate, began her professional career as a Dental Assistant with Chestnut Hills Dental, Shadyside. While there she was responsible for a variety of dental procedures, biohazard containment, sterilization, and impressions. She loves the interaction with patients and the ongoing learning environment in her career.
She attended Career Training Academy for the Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) preparation within the Dental Assisting program which will enable her to take the state EFDA certification test. Successful completion of the test will allow her to reach her goal of becoming an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant.
Katt finds much satisfaction in providing patient education to ensure her patients understand and are fully educated on upcoming procedures and routine care.
We are so blessed to find a career we LOVE.

The day I visited Career Training Academy I knew it was the right choice
for me. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. They were excited to
help me start my future. Everyday I came to school, I was excited. I always
looked forward to learning new things. The faculty prepared me with in
depth knowledge and hands on clinical training that gave me the confidence
to do well in the medical field. I now completed my externship and was
hired on fulltime through Allegheny Health Network as a medical assistant.
My externship site was very impressed with the knowledge I brought to the
table. I am proud that my degree came from Career Training Academy and
would recommend this school to anyone looking to make a positive decision
for their future.
